Momo's - CANCELLED

Momo's shuttered its doors on December 27, 2011. I could've taken the date off of this calendar, but my heart is so, so heavy at the loss of this club. No other venue in Austin has done more to support women artists, and there's now a big, huge vacuum.

This second-floor club closed due to construction below which damaged the structural integrity of the building. You can't have 250 people standing on a floor that might give way. Owner Paul Oveisi says he hopes to find another space to reopen the venue -- and my fingers couldn't be more tightly crossed that he does -- but one way or another, thanks for a great club while it was here.

Urban Campfires

I can't believe my luck! I'll be playing one of the nation's finest, most fun house concert series, just 70 miles south of Austin. I had the pleasure of meeting one of Urban Campfires' driving forces, Janet Pogue Hans, at last April's Songwriter Serenade Competition. Janet invited me to play a post-mainstage set at her Kerrville Camp (Sweetness & Light), and now we've got a date on the calendar. This is a true jewel of a series, and if you can't make this show, be sure to check out their calendar and grab another date!

The Crow Bar

It's the kick-off event for Christy Claxton's new South Austin Social Club. The mission of the club is to invite audiences and artists from all disciplines to meet regularly, build a community of arts activists, and make our city an even more amazing place to live. Tips from shows will be earmarked for community arts projects that could use a little extra funding. Tips from this show will go to buy art supplies for the Umlauf Sculpture Garden's project which gives a voice to children who are victims of abuse.

I'll be doing a 45 minute set, as will the Bear Creek Ensemble. Come out and start socializing with a tribe of socially-conscious artists and neighbors!

Umlauf Sculpture Garden -- RAIN CANCELLATION!!

UPDATE: The show today is cancelled -- cold, wet weather doesn't make for a great outdoor listening experience. Organizers hope to reschedule this event, so stay tuned. :-)

Webb House Concerts - POSTPONED!!

UPDATE: Due to a weather forecast calling for bad storms this evening, the concerts is POSTPONED til some time this summer. On the one hand, we Austinites will believe it when we see it... on the other, the forecast is pretty clear, and we want everyone safe. ;-)
