Host Jean at your own house concert !!

If you're the kind of soul who...

-- loves great live music but isn't always crazy about the bar/nightclub scene?
-- enjoys opening their doors for a casual gathering of friends and neighbors?
-- has a living room that can squeeze in a dozen or more people?
-- would love to support indie artists in a genuinely meaningful way?

...then you'd make an incredibly good house concert host, and I'd love to play in your home.

A concert in your house: It's easy, it's fun, it's memorable.

House concerts are fabulous, awesome, amazing, human experiences.  I've been playing them around the country for almost 10 years, and they are--hands down--the best gigs in the world. There's a really strong chance that your living room was made for music, and you just might not know it yet. Read on to see if hosting a house concert sounds as cool to you as it does to me.

So what is a "house concert?"

If you've never heard of, or been to, a house concert, you might be surprised to know that more and more of them are popping up across the country each year as a great alternative to the traditional bar scene. The focus is on the music, and these unplugged performances give audiences an intimate performance that's unlike anything offered in a typical music venue, and artists have an unparalleled chance to really connect with audiences.

The quickest way to see how they work is to check out the fantastic resources for house concert hosts available from Concerts In Your Home, including this short video:

Hey Jean, what are YOUR shows like?

Great question!  First, here are a few things that other concert hosts and bookers have been kind enough to say about me:

"This thoroughly talented singer-songwriter and musician also has the gift of communicating with the audience. Jean's last visit to Rear Window was nothing short of delightful... and her delivery is second to none! She has a terrific sense of humor which, throughout the night, filled the house with laughter." -- Rear Window Listening Room, Ganado, TX

"Her voice is gorgeous, powerful yet expressive, her lyrics are thoughtful and relevant, and it's easy to tell she enjoys being in front of an audience. Definitely a winner." -- Jake Jacobson, Circle of Friends Coffeehouse Concert Series

Second, jump over to the "Watch Out" page and scroll down to the "solo and house concert" videos to get a taste for this kind of show.

Finally, because solo house concert performances sound different than studio CDs, enjoy this .mp3 of the song "Lucky" recorded in a solo set at the Austin Acoustical Cafe Concert Series.

OK, this is cool! I really want you to do a concert in my house. Now what?

First, email me!  We can talk about dates, what the show will be like, and what we'd need from each other to make it great. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.  I'll do my best to make it a remarkably easy, fun, and memorable experience.
