About "Lucky"

Lucky comes out of the exuberance of having survived a year of challenges--like breast cancer and the loss of a father. But instead of dwelling on disappointment, dysfunction, or disease, the CD's songs view the world through a wide-angle lens of possibility. Her first solo CD, Lucky brought together an exceptional array of Austin's finest players to create a big, big sound. The core band included: Charles Rieser (acoustic and electric guitars), Chris Searles (drums and percussion), and Glen Kawamoto (bass). Guest artists included: Earl Poole Ball on keyboards, David Hamburger on National Guitar, Ephraim Owens on trumpet, and the Grooveline Horns.

Jean's favorite moments on this record include: Charles Rieser's acoustic guitar solo in "Sure Thing," and the horn parts in the 4th verse to "Ode to Billy Joe" (which will forever be her favorite cover song). Enjoy!
